If you are a beginning face painter, or looking for that little kick for your Halloween or other costume, we recommend you start small. One pallet or one theme pack is enough for a good start -- and as soon as you discover how easy it is to paint fun and interesting faces, you'll be wanting to add more colors and faces to your portfolio. Next thing you know, you'll be doing all the faces in the neighborhood, the class, the family..... The basic 8 colors you'll need for a beginning business are white, black, red, orange, pink, green, sky blue, and yellow. You will also need sponges for applying base colors, and brushes for applying details. All SNAZAROO pallets and theme packs come with a disposable brush. For more frequent use, we recommend you use synthetic sable brushes, since the bristles tend to be sturdier (and won't break off and leave hair-like bristles in your face painting) -- and are simple to clean in warm water. The 24 Color Business Kit includes 5 excellent brushes in a variety of widths and styles. The three basic books for learning to use the paints are "Snazaroo Zoo", "First Faces", and "5-Minute Faces." The other books expect you to be an experienced face painter before you attempt their designs. --------------------- If you're opening up your face painting business for the first time, whether at a carnival, fund raiser, or class picnic, here are some suggested prices: *Cheek color (freehand or using a face stamp and paints) -- either $1.00 per cheek, or simply do the cheek for free and set out an obvious tip bucket. (Always put a few quarters and dollars in the bucket so people will know what it is for.) *Full Faces -- $5.00 - $10.00 *Full Faces with Special Effects, Metalics, or Glitter -- $6.00 - $12.00 Use your best judgement about setting prices.
