ORDER EARLY No kidding -- that's our very best shopping and shipping advice. Every week we have people come online and try to order a great big (or even a little tiny...) gift on the day before they need it, and then they yell and scream and moan and groan and grinch and fuss that their gift didn't arrive on time. Are we surprised by this last-minute shoppers' fit day in and day out? NO. But we sure would like to avoid it. HOLIDAY SHIPPING INFO 2003 Thanksgiving falls on Thursday November 27th in 2003, so the official starters pistol for Christmas shopping is on Friday the 28th. This means the shopping season is a couple of days shorter this year than in some years and so you can look for the compression to give a lot of folks a last-minute frenzy-headache. FedEx does not deliver on Dec. 25th. UPS does not deliver on Dec. 25th. USPS Priority does not deliver on Dec. 25th. USPS Express Mail DOES delivver on Dec. 25th, but they do not guarantee overnight delivery, so a package ordered/shipped on Dec. 24th WILL NOT be delivered on Dec. 25th. In other words, THERE IS NO WAY TO ORDER A PACKAGE ON DECEMBER 24TH AND HAVE IT DELIVERED ON DECEMBER 25TH. Christmas and Chunakah are also crossing this year -- so the postal systems and package delivery services are gearing up for overload. Christmas Eve falls on Wednesday the 24th, and Christmas Day is on Thursday -- which means: ***The last day/time for USPS Priority mail packages to be ordered (with any hope of being successfully delivered by Christmas Eve) is 10:00am Central Time, Friday, December 19th. ***The last day for FedEx 3-Day Express Saver packages to be orderd (with any hope of being delivered by Christmas Eve) is 10:00am Central Time, Friday, December 19th. ***The last day for FedEx 2-Day packages to be orderd (with any hope of being delivered by Christmas Eve) is 10:00am Central Time, Monday, December 22nd. ***The last day for FedEx Overnight packages to be orderd (with any hope of being delivered by Christmas Eve) is 10:00am Central Time, Tuesday, December 23rd. ***The last day for USPS Express Mail packages to be orderd (with any hope of being delivered by Christmas) is 10:00am Central Time, Monday, December 22nd. ***The last day for Lubbock TX, Local Pick-up packages to be orderd and picked up at our shop is 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 23rd. **********Purciful's Magical Toys in no way guarantees the delivery times offered by the various package delivery services. ORDER IT BEFORE DECEMBER 19TH!!!!!!!!!! really -- ORDER IT BEFORE DECEMBER 19TH!!!!!!!!!! BASICS TO REMEMBER WHEN ORDERING ONLINE: 1. If you don't get an email confirmation of your order within a couple of hours after submitting it, then it probably didn't make it through to us either. To be sure your order was properly submitted -- give us a call! (806) 239-2927 2. We generally have to call or email about 5%-7% of our customers with questions about their orders (we may be out of the color or style you order -- especially during the hectic holiday shopping season when stock sells so quickly....) If you have entered your contact information incorrectly, or entered a bogus phone number or email address, we will most likely have to cancel your order if we cannot reach you. We all hate SPAM and telemarketing -- and we at Purciful's never sell or share your informtion, (see our Policies page) so if you give us bad billing or contact information when we don't have time to track you down -- we have no choice but to set your order aside. 3. If you are ordering large numbers of the same item -- CALL before you place the order to make sure we have what you need in stock! As for when to order and how to ship..... ALL APO or FPO ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL. We know -- a lot of people have been told to ship APO/FPO by USPS Express Mail... we don't know who is spreading this viscious rumor, but the Post Office won't accept packages headed to APO and FPO address with Express labeling, postage, or tracking numbers. Only Prioirity Mail will do it -- and we will include the appropriate customs forms and labeling needed to cross whatever border the addressee is inside.... AND, since Priority Mail is so much cheaper (by 40-60%) -- you can afford to send MORE TOYS! WEEKEND ORDERS Always remember: FedEx does not accept packages on Saturday or Sunday. You can pay extra (about $10-$20 extra) to have a package delivered on Saturday morning, but that's just a delivery -- if you order any FedEx shipping method after 2:00pm on Friday, anytime Saturday, or anytime Sunday -- your package will not be picked up here at Purciful's until Monday afternoon. The moral of this story is, don't pay the extra to have something shipped by FedEx on Saturday thinking you will get it on Monday. It just doesn't work that way. As a matter of fact -- even the US Post Office stops accepting packages on Saturday morning -- so any weekend order should not be expected to leave our shop over the weekend. There's just no place for it to go until the USPS or FedEx opens up on Monday! Here are the shipping choices: 1. USPS Priority -- Usually 3 postal days to most US addresses. Recommended as our standard shipping method. As of the 2002 postal rate increase, Priority Mail rates are calculated based on both weight and postal ZONE (distance). The greatest increases therefore are for residents of Hawaii, Alaska, and Maine. Because of UPS & FedEx Ground residential fees, packaging restrictions, fuel surcharges and other misc. surcharges, USPS Priority remains cheaper for packages up to 8lbs, and competitive beyond that. 98% of all packages we ship are 8lbs and under, making Priority Mail our 1st choice; ALL ORDERS GOING TO APO OR FPO ADDRESSES WILL BE SHIPPED VIA USPS PRIOIRITY MAIL (Neither the USPS nor Purciful's Toys makes any guarantee about how long delivery will take to APO or FPO Mail Centers). 2. FEDEX Standard Overnight -- the next business day (not guaranteed during Holidays); 3. FEDEX 2-day Air -- 2 Business Days (not guaranteed during Holidays); 4. FEDEX Express Saver -- 3 Business Days (not guaranteed during Holidays); 5. FEDEX Saturday Delivery (for packages ordered before 1:00pm on Friday) (not guaranteed during Holidays); 6. Use your own FedEx Account to pay for your FedEx shipment. We will add a $2.00 shipping/packing charge. Fill in your FedEx Acct.# & the FedEx service you wish to use and we'll take care of the rest! 7. USPS EXPRESS Mail delivery -- 1-2 days to most US addresses. Sometimes cheaper than Fedex Overnight, and the USPS delivers on Sundays & holidays! 8. If you live in West Texas & want to pick up your order in Lubbock, select LOCAL PICKUP. If you live outside the 790xx-797xx zip codes and you plan to be in the Lubbock area, you will need to select another shipping method and then call or email us to reduce your shipping charge to $0 for local pickup.
